Three NAPHL alumni selected in 2024 NHL Draft
The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) is proud to announce that three players with NAPHL ties were selected in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, which was held on June 28-29 at Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada, and hosted by the Vegas Golden Knights.
The three NAPHL players taken in the 2023 draft follows a year when five players were selected in the 2023 NHL Draft. Overall, 17 former NAPHL players have been selected in the last three NHL Drafts.
The NAPHL is entering its 16th season in 2024-25 with teams at the 18U, 16U, 15U, and 14U USA Hockey Tier I and Tier II youth levels. The success of teams on the National stage, as well as, the success of NAPHL players at the next levels of hockey, is further proof that the NAPHL is redefining exposure and has elevated itself to one of the premier training grounds for development and opportunity.
In addition to the 23 players who were drafted in the 2024 NAHL Draft back on June 15th, 74 players who played in the league during the 2023-24 season signed NAHL tenders for the upcoming 2024-25 season. In total, a total of 97 NAPHL T1ER players were either drafted or tendered by NAHL teams for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
The three NAPHL players selected in the 2024 NHL Draft were:
Colin Ralph, D, CarShield AAA 16U (2021-22) Round 2, #48, St. Louis Blues
Austin Moline, D, Northstar Knights 16U (2020-21) Round 7, #205, Philadelphia Flyers
Bauer Berry, D, Northstar Knights 16U (2021-22) Round 7, #218, Edmonton Oilers
Ralph, 18, played one year in the NAPHL with CarShield AAA’s 16U team during the 2021-22 season. In 28 regular season games, the future St. Louis Blue tallied 19 points (2 goals, 17 assists). During postseason play, he notched two additional assists throughout four Dixon Cup Playoff games. Following his time in the NAPHL, Ralph went on to play two seasons for Shattuck St. Mary’s, ultimately making his division 1 commitment to St. Cloud State University.
Moline, 18, spent the 2020-21 season in the NAPHL with the NorthStar Knights at the 16U level. Throughout the regular season, the Las Vegas, NV native was just over a point per game player with 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) in 10 games. In 6 Dixon Cup Playoff games, the blueliner tallied three additional assists. Following his time with NorthStar, Moline would go on to play alongside Colin Ralph at Shattuck St. Mary’s at the 18U level, committing division 1 to Northern Michigan University.
Berry, 18, played for the NorthStar Knights 16U team the year following Austin Moline. In 24 regular season games, the Grand Forks, ND native registered 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists), and continued to produce during the postseason as he recorded 6 additional points (3 goals, 3 assists) during 4 Dixon Cup Playoff games. After two seasons with NorthStar, Berry suited up for the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the USHL, making his division 1 commitment to the University of St. Thomas.
