T1ER announces Peak Performers for Blaine Showcase
The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) has announced the T1ER League Peak Performers from the T1ER Showcase held in September. Players were chosen based on their performances in the 18U, 16U and 15U regular season games that took place from September 26th to 29th in Blaine, MN.
18U:
Forward: William Harker, Lincoln Stars
Over the course of four games, San Jose, CA native William Harker recorded 7 points (3 goals, 4 assists), claiming the title of top scorer for the Stars. His best game of the event came on Saturday the 28th as Lincoln defeated the Philadelphia Little Flyers by a score of 5-3. Harker came up huge for his team scoring the game winning goal in addition to dishing out three assists for a four point game.
Defense: Nate Hart, Biggby Coffee
As the second leading scorer for defenseman in the 18U bracket and the top scorer for Biggby, ‘06 blueliner Nate Hart made quite the impact during the first event of the season. In four games played, Hart was able to get on the scoresheet during every contest, tallying a total of 5 points (2 goals, 3 assists). During Biggby’s 5-2 victory against the Nashville Jr. Preds, the Ada, MI native scored one goal on the powerplay and recorded the primary assist on the first goal of the game.
Goaltender: Andrew Bely, CarShield
Netminder Andrew Bely stood tall between the pipes for two out of four games for CarShield as the squad from Missouri posted a perfect 4-0 record on the weekend. The 6’5” St. Louis, MO native started out the event making all 30 saves during his team’s 5-0 shutout over the Pittsburgh Stars. Bely would follow up with another great performance making 30 out of 32 saves against Team Maryland. With these statistics, Bely maintained a goals against average of 1 and a saver percentage of .968.
16U:
Forward: Mason Majewski, Madison Capitols
Capitols forward Mason Majewski is a second year T1ER player for Madison and appears to have picked up right where he left off after last season. As the top scorer for Madison, and tied for first overall in the age group, the Cottage Grove, WI native has recorded 9 points (4 goals, 5 assists) throughout the first four games of the season. During the team’s 5-2 victory over the Minnesota Moose, the ‘08 forward had his best game to date scoring one goal and tallying three assists, one of the helpers coming on the game winning goal.
Defense: Ketchum LaDue, Wasatch Renegades
‘08 blueliner Ketchum LaDue has been the star for the Wasatch Renegades, racking up 7 points (2 goals, 5 assists) as the team posted a 2-1-0-1 record at the first event. Despite being a defenseman, LaDue leads his team in points and has been a huge contributor with two, three-point games against the Tri-State Spartans and North Carolina Golden Bears. When looking at the stat breakdown, both goals were scored on the man advantage, proving LaDue is a well rounded player for the Renegades.
Goaltender: Hudson Kutchma, Indiana Elite
Netminder Hudson Kutchma posted a 2-1-0-0 record as Indiana Elite sits 4th place overall in the 16U standings after the first event. Over the course of three games, the Westfield, IN native was faced with a total of 68 shots, turning away 63 for a save percentage of .940 and a goals against average of 1.30. His best game to date came on September 26th as Kutchma was a brick wall during his team’s 2-1 shootout victory over the Pittsburgh Vengeance only allowing one goal during regulation, turning away 28 shots.
15U:
Forward: Brock Bienemann, Pittsburgh Stars
Brock Bienemann, one of two players on the Pittsburgh Stars to score 6 points, was instrumental in his team's success as they finished with a record of 3-1-0-0 in Blaine. The Jeannette, PA native had an incredible performance as the Stars defeated the Valley Forge Minutemen by a score of 6-2 as Beinemann racked up 4 points. The ‘09 forward assisted on the first and last goals of the game in addition to scoring two goals of his own during the final frame.
Defenseman: Jax Pored, Orange County Ice Dogs
Jax Pored and the Orange County Ice Dogs sit atop of the 15U standings going undefeated with a 4-0 record. The second year T1ER blueliner was able to find the back in three out of four contests, the most goals by a defenseman at the 15U level. Pored was the hero for the Ice Dogs on the 29th as they defeated Philadelphia Hockey Club 4-3 in overtime. After a back and forth game, things were tied up heading into the final frame and Pored banked home the OT winner two minutes into extra innings.
Goaltender: Brian Ray, CarShield
CarShield posted a 3-0-0-1 record through the first event, netminder Bryan Ray standing tall between the pipes for two of their wins, boasting impressive numbers. Over the course of two games, the St. Louis, MO native was faced with 45 shots, turning away all but two for a save percentage of .956 and a goals against average of 1. When looking at the 15U goalie statistics, Ray was the only goaltender to post a shutout, a 5-0 victory for CarShield over Philadelphia Hockey Club.
