Against New Jersey, Omaha would get the job done with a 5-2 victory, Cornic getting on the board scoring the second goal before Devin Heald netted the game winner in the middle of the second frame. Brooks Skogland would be the only player to tally two points in game two as he dished out a pair of assists.
Team Alaska would also have a great showing on day one, winning their only game of the day against the Seattle Kraken. During the squad’s 4-0 shutout, Daniel Mateev was the star of the show scoring two goals and tallying one assist, both goals coming in the second period.
