18U:

Team Alaska remained undefeated on the weekend with a pair of wins over the Wasatch Renegades and the Omaha Mastery, both games needing extra time to decide a winner. Their first contest of the day against the Renegades kept fans on the edge of their seats with action going back and forth during the first two periods of the game as neither team was able to find the back of the net in period number three, resulting in overtime. The game winner would come under two minutes into overtime off the stick of Daniel Matveev.

Game two of the day against Omaha was quiet after a scoreless first period before things really opened up in the second as each team got on the board with one goal a piece. Omaha would begin the third period scoring two quick goals, just two minutes apart. Alaska would respond scoring two of their own to tie things up, Daniel Matveev scoring yet another goal in regulation. In the shootout Matveev would come up huge for his team, in addition to Paul Dittrich who would score Alaska’s second shootout goal.

Similar to Alaska, the Lincoln Stars swept their two games of the day, remaining undefeated with wins over Florida Alliance South and the New Jersey Titans, both games being won by larger margins. As the first game of the day in the division, Lincoln kicked things off with a demanding 6-2 victory. When looking at the scoresheet, Eli Shulman was the star of the show scoring two goals and recording one assist. Flipping over to their second game, seven players had a multi-point game against the Titans, including Andrei Nabokov who scored a hat trick and Sam Kline who scored a pair of goals and dished out a pair of assists.

16U:

The Orange County Bulldogs came out victorious in overtime over the Wasatch Renegades by a final score of 3-2. The Bulldogs came out of the gates hot, scoring the first two goals of the game in the first period, the first coming just three minutes into the contest. The Renegades would follow things up scoring two goals themselves, one goal in the second and one in the third, both early goals in the respective periods. With either team unable to score another goal in regulation, things headed to overtime and it would be Atticus Knutson who would score his second goal of the game to end things for Orange County.

The Lincoln Stars squeaked out with another win as they defeated the Seattle Kraken in a shootout with a final score of 3-2. The Stars found the back of the net twice in the first frame, their first goal coming 11:09 into the period, followed by the second goal just a few moments later. After a scoreless second period, the Kraken came out flying in the third period scoring two quick goals, both coming just under two minutes into the final frame of regulation. After a scoreless overtime, teams headed to a shootout and it would be Lincoln who came out on top as Noah Krueger buried one home to seal the deal.
