T1ER East NAHL Experience Weekend (NH): Day 2
We are halfway through the third T1ER event of the season here in New Hampshire. As always there were plenty of great games between the 14U, 16U and 18U levels. For the full day of scores be sure to visit the T1ER Game Center - nat1hl.com/game-center/menu.
14U:
Philadelphia Hockey Club improved to 3-0 on the weekend after a pair of wins over the New Hampshire Mountain Kings and California Wave. Game one was a high scoring affair as things ended with a final score of 9-5. A total of three players were able to score two goals each, Mace Gray, Cameron Willis and Samuel Steeves. The second game was a bit more quiet but nonetheless still successful as they defeated the Wave by a final score of 4-1. Unlike their meeting with New Hampshire, four different players found the back of the net, including Samuel Steeves once again.
The Maine Nordiques also picked up a set of wins, taking down the Seattle Kraken and Danbury Hat Tricks. Despite being down 2-0 entering the second period to Seattle, the Nords rallied back scoring four unanswered goals from four different players to claim victory. Between the pipes, Michael Canning III had a solid game as he turned away 26 of 28 shots for a game save percentage of .929. The floodgates opened for their second game as they took a demanding 11-1 victory over Danbury. The boys were buzzing on offense as three players tallied four or more points. Jonah Welte led the way in terms of point production scoring three goals and tallying three assists. Chase Fecko also had himself a stellar game finding the back of the net on four occasions in addition to dishing out one assist.
16U:
After coming up just short against the Carolina Rage during their first game of the day, Philadelphia Hockey Club rallied back for game two, defeating North Shore Hockey Academy by a score of 5-2. PHC scored the first five games of the contest, including their leading goal scorer Carmine Laspata who netted his first hat trick of the season, two goals coming in the first period. The Sewell, NJ native is a second year T1ER player and has already surpassed his point total from last season and has definitely had a dominant weekend here thus far in New Hampshire.
The North Carolina Golden Bears earned their first victory of the season after defeating Boston Hockey Academy by a final score of 5-4. The contest was definitely a back and forth affair as the Bears scored two goals in the first period before BHA responded two goals of their own in the second to tie things up heading into the final frame. A total of five goals were scored between the two clubs in the third, three coming from North Carolina to seal the deal. Colin Kenney was the star of the show as he scored two goals, including the game winner in addition to recording one assist.
18U:
CATS improved to 2-1 on the weekend after defeating Seacoast Performance Academy by a final score of 5-3. The squad’s leading scorer in Ruslanbeck Karim continued to shine on the scoresheet as he scored a hat trick in addition to notching one assist. Of his three goals, two were scored in the final frame, including the game winner which came at the 4:26 mark. With these four points, the ‘07 forward has racked up 9 points (7 goals, 2 assists), in three games. Meanwhile between the pipes, netminder Logan Millar played a great game as he was faced with a total of 40 shots, making 37 saves for a game save percentage of .925.
The Rothesay Netherwood School has maintained a perfect record as they defeated the West Chester Wolves Academy by a final score of 3-1. After a scoreless first period, West Chester opened up scoring 4:02 into the second, their only eventual goal of the contest. Rothesay Netherwood did a great job to turn the page as they scored three unanswered goals to claim victory, all coming off the sticks of various players. In net, Thomas Laplante had his best game of the weekend as he turned away 33 of 34 shots for a game save percentage of .971.
