T1ER East NAHL Experience Weekend (NJ): Day 2

The Philadelphia Little Flyers had a fantastic Saturday, winning both contests against the West Chester Wolves and Maine Nordiques. During the squad’s 5-2 victory, things were all tied up after one as both teams netted a pair of goals. Philadelphia would come out the gates hot scoring three unanswered goals to claim victory. Five different players found the back of the net, including Nick Smith and Owen Khoung tallying both a goal and an assist.
Their second game of the day against the Nords would be a bit more intense as teams went back and forth with scoring during the duration of the game. Maine began the game on the right foot, up 2-1 through the first period. The Little Flyers followed up scoring the lone goal in the second, things tied up once again. The third period is where the intensity ramped up even more as Maine took a 3-2 lead early in the final frame before Philadelphia tallied a pair of goals, including one on the powerplay to claim victory.
The New Hampshire Mountain Kings took home an overtime victory over the Mercer Chiefs, their only game of the day. The game was a rather high scoring affair as the scoreboard read 6-5 at the conclusion of the game. Artimi Egorov and Grant Sexton each had themselves a day, scoring not one, but two goals a piece. Other players on the scoresheet who stood out included Ryan Bossch who dished out three assists in addition to Anthony Crescenzo who scored one goal and notched two assists.

The Danbury Hat Tricks picked up their second win on the weekend after a 5-2 victory over the Mercer Chiefs. Gilbert Sudaley was the star of the show for Danbury’s offense as he scored a pair of goals and tallied one assist, including one shorthanded goal. In addition to Sudaley’s valiant efforts, netminder Timmy Engelman also had himself a fantastic game. The White Plains, NY native was faced with a total of 41 shots, making 43 saves for a game save percentage of .953, his best T1ER game to date.
The North Carolina Golden Bears took a demanding 7-3 victory to conclude their Saturday over the Maine Nordiques. Five different players on North Carolina’s roster were able to tally two or more points during the high scoring affair. Both Luke Baker and Elis Strandberg scored a pair of goals, Baker also picking up another point as he dished out an assist on the fourth goal. Between the pipes, David Carey was solid for North Carolina as he was able to make 34 of 37 saves for the win.
