18U:

The Wasatch Renegades ended the event on a high note with a demanding 7-0 victory over the Maine Jr. Mariners. Through the first two periods of action, the offense was rather quiet as only two goals were scored, the Mariners still having a chance heading into the final frame. Things completely took off for Wasatch during the third as they went on an absolute scoring tear. A total of five goals were scored, including two goals coming off the stick of Wyatt Hanna in addition to tallying one assist. This three-point game was Hanna’s best game to date and currently has 10 points through 11 games so far this year.

It was a high scoring affair for the second to last game of the event as Philadelphia Hockey Club defeated the Maine Nordiques by a final score of 9-7. After only one goal was scored during the first, you would predict the game would rather quiet but that was not the case as a total of seven goals were tallied during the middle frame (two for the Nordiques and five for PHC) and eight goals found their way to the back of the net during the final 17 minutes of play (four for each organization). The standout on the scoresheet would be PHC’s leading scorer Kalib Capecci who scored a whopping four goals in addition to notching one assist.

16U:

Similar to their 18U team, the Wasatch Renegades’ 16U team capped things off in the win column after defeating the North Carolina Golden Bears by a final score of 6-1. This contest was fantastic in terms of depth scoring for Wasatch as a total of five players found the back of the net, Dace Rhea being the lone player to score multiple goals in addition to dishing out an assist. Rhea is one of two skaters for the Renegades who is over a point per game player as he has tallied 15 points (9 goals, 6 assists) in 12 games. With this win, the team will head to Blaine with an overall record of 5-4-2-1.

The New Hampshire Mountain Kings posted a perfect 4-0 record after defeating the Maine Jr. Mariners by a final score of 3-1. New Hampshire notched the first two goals of the contest before the Mariners would attempt a comeback with a goal from Avery Tyler. With things getting interesting, the Mountain Kings would go on to score one more insurance goal to seal the deal. Andrei Gandurov was the star for New Hampshire all weekend as he not only scored two goals and tallied one assist during this contest but totaled 9 points throughout the course of the weekend as the team’s leading scorer.
