The Madison Capitols had a strong day, sweeping both of their games. They defeated the Philadelphia Little Flyers 3-2 and then took down the Tri-State Spartans 5-0. In the game against the Little Flyers, both teams exchanged goals in the first period, and the score remained tied through the second. In the third, Grayden Anderson gave the Capitols a 2-1 lead, but Luke DiDomenico quickly responded to even things up for Philadelphia. The game-winning goal came from Baxter Ledford, securing the 3-2 win for Madison.
CarShield grabbed a crucial first win of the weekend, defeating Gilmore Academy 2-1 in overtime. After a scoreless first period, Gilmore struck early in the second, scoring just 17 seconds in. They held on to a 1-0 lead for much of the game until Brandon Catalano scored to tie things up for CarShield. With the game heading to overtime, the intensity picked up, and Gilmore was called for a hooking penalty. CarShield capitalized on the power play, drawing up a great play that allowed Catalano to score again and seal the victory. A big win for CarShield to start turning things around.

The Madison Capitols delivered a dominant 6-0 win over SPA, showing their offensive depth as five different players scored. Aiden Koonce led the charge with two goals, while both he and Wyatt Kostichka kept their strong performances going, having scored in the previous game against the Pittsburgh Vengeance as well. The Caps were efficient, finding the back of the net in every period, and their all-around effort ensured a convincing victory.
The Pittsburgh Stars stayed undefeated with a 3-1 win over Indiana Elite. Alexander Popov was the standout player, scoring the first two goals of the game and extending his goal-scoring streak to four goals across the Central Showcase. Popov has been on fire! In addition to Popov’s stellar performance, goaltender Nikita Oleksiienko had a fantastic game, stopping 35 of 36 shots for a .972 save percentage. His win improved his record to 6-1, making him a key factor in Pittsburgh’s continued success.
