Another Action-Packed Day of T1ER hockey at the NAHL Showcase

Day 3 of the NAHL Showcase in Blaine kept the momentum rolling with another full slate of T1ER action across the 18U, 16U, and 15U divisions. From high-intensity matchups to standout performances, the competition only grew stronger as teams continued to make their mark on the week. Follow all the scores and results here.
18U:
The Lincoln Stars improved to 2-1 on the weekend, carrying momentum from the previous night with a 5-2 win over Compuware. The first two periods saw balanced scoring, with each team netting a goal per period, including a power-play tally apiece, leaving the game tied 2-2 heading into the third. Between periods, Head Coach Curtis Brown delivered a clear message, and Lincoln responded with a strong final frame, turning up the jets, scoring three goals. Veteran Will Harker added his second goal of the game, continuing his impressive run from last season, helping secure the victory.
The Philadelphia Little Flyers kept their winning ways rolling, following up Friday’s victory with a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals. After a scoreless opening frame, Nick Yashin broke the deadlock with his second goal of the weekend to give Philadelphia the edge. The Little Flyers doubled their lead early in the third before Milwaukee answered to pull within one, but strong defensive play down the stretch sealed the win for Philadelphia.
16U:
The Madison Capitols remain undefeated at 3-0 as they head into the final day of the first event, edging the Colorado Thunderbirds 3-2 in a thrilling matchup. Colorado came out strong in the first, killing off three penalties, but Madison struck with the lone five-on-five goal to take a 1-0 lead. The second period saw the Thunderbirds respond with back-to-back goals, including a power-play goal, before Easten Brown evened the score for the Capitols heading into the final frame. The third period was full of intensity and penalties, but Madison found a way to pull ahead as Griffin Nelson notched his first goal of the weekend to secure the 3-2 win.
After a tough loss to the Colorado Thunderbirds on Friday, Biggby bounced back with a 3-1 victory over the LA Jr. Kings, despite being outshot 24-21. Jake Martin got Biggby on the board first, scoring his third goal of the weekend in the opening period. LA responded on the power play when Jacob Custode tied the game, but longtime Biggby defenseman Tyler Ferguson answered with his first goal of the event, which would stand as the game-winner. The third period saw the Jr. Kings push for a comeback, but Biggby added an empty-net goal to secure the win.
15U:
The Tri-State Spartans climbed to 2-1 on the weekend with a 5-2 bounce-back win over the Danbury Hat Tricks. Danbury struck first on the power play in the opening frame to take a 1-0 lead after one. The Spartans answered in the second with the lone goal of the period, sending the game into the third tied at 1-1. The final 20 minutes delivered all the action, as the teams combined for five goals. Tri-State pulled away with three of their own, highlighted by strong performances from Andrew Kaminski and Chase Fecko, who each netted a pair in the victory.
The Pittsburgh Stars stayed perfect on the weekend, improving to 3-0 with a 6-3 win over the Jr. Coyotes. Pittsburgh opened the scoring with two first-period goals, including one on the power play, and added two more in the second, both from Myers Garrett. The third period was a high-scoring affair, with five goals combined, highlighted by Myles Garrett completing his hat trick. The Jr. Coyotes also showed life late, netting three goals in an attempt to mount a comeback, but the Stars held strong to secure the victory.
