Day 1 Highlights: Strong 16U & 18U Action Kicks Off T1ER West NAHL Experience

Day 1 of the T1ER West NAHL Experience weekend opened with a full slate of 16U and 18U matchups. Competitive games and strong individual performances set the tone for what’s shaping up to be a solid weekend of hockey in Janesville. Click here to see all the results.
18U:
The Omaha Mastery picked up their first win of the T1ER season in overtime, a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Team Alaska. Both teams found the back of the net in the opening period, with Reece Jackson getting Omaha on the board early to set the tone. The second period remained scoreless, highlighted by a strong effort from the Mastery penalty kill as they held Alaska to 0/3 on the power play. Special teams took over in the third, with both sides netting shorthanded goals, including Reid Carlson’s late tally for Alaska that forced overtime. In the extra frame, Baron Novorolsky delivered the game-winner, scoring his first of the season to secure the win.
CarShield opened the weekend on a strong note, building off their momentum from Blaine with a 4-2 win over the Lincoln Stars. Andrew Rocha got things started with the first goal of the game before Lincoln answered to even the score. CarShield regained the lead late in the first to go up 2-1, but Jace Applehans’ power-play tally for Lincoln knotted things again in the second. From there, the St. Louis group took control, Brady Bates buried his fourth of the season on the power play, and an insurance marker sealed the victory for CarShield.
Biggby improved to 3-3 in T1ER play with a 5-2 win over the Madison Capitols. Madison struck first to take a 1-0 lead after the opening period, but Biggby came alive in the second with four unanswered goals, iincluding a shorthanded tally from Dimitri Tioumentsev, who finished the night with two. The momentum carried into the third as Biggby added another early goal before Madison responded, but Biggby held firm to close out the victory.
16U:
CarShield opened the weekend with an impressive 3-0 shutout over the previously undefeated Seattle Kraken. Despite Seattle entering as the favorite after a strong showing in Blaine, CarShield set the tone early and never looked back. Caden Clark opened the scoring midway through the first with his first goal of the season, and after a scoreless second period, he struck again on the power play to make it 2-0. CarShield added one more late to seal the statement win.
Omaha turned in a dominant showing, sweeping the day with convincing wins over Biggby and the Wasatch Renegades. Across both games, the Mastery outscored their opponents 14-3, showcasing depth and balance throughout the lineup. In a 5-3 win over Biggby, five different players found the back of the net, led by defenseman Caden Ingalls, who recorded a goal and three assists. Omaha kept rolling in game two, a high-scoring matchup that saw nine total goals. Ingalls continued his standout day with another goal and two assists, finishing with six points, while Harrison Dana and Landon Green each added a pair of goals to cap off the sweep.
