Day 2 Recap: Big Wins, Shutouts, and Standout Performances Fuel T1ER West NAHL Experience Weekend

Day 2 of the T1ER West NAHL Experience weekend wrapped up with another round of hard-fought 16U and 18U matchups. Strong team play and standout individual efforts continued to define the action in Janesville. Click here to see all the results.
18U:
The Lincoln Stars earned an impressive 2-0 win over Biggby, improving to 4-2 on the season. The first two periods were tightly contested, with neither team able to find the back of the net despite Lincoln having four power-play opportunities and Biggby getting two of their own. The game opened up in the third period as Will Harker stole the show, scoring both goals for the Stars, including a statement power-play tally that put the team ahead for good. Behind Harker’s heroics, Blaine Peak Performer Owen Kinsel continued his strong form in net, turning aside every shot to earn his first shutout of the season and secure the win for Lincoln.
CarShield picked up a dominant shutout win on the day, defeating Team North Dakota 3-0 to continue their strong run in the 18U division. Nathan Jastrzebski opened the scoring in the first period, netting his second goal of the weekend and giving CarShield an early edge. The St. Louis' squad extended their lead in the second period when Reid Parker scored shorthanded. Landon Rogers added an insurance goal later in the game to cap off the scoring and seal the victory. With the win, CarShield improves to 5-2 and now sits atop the 18U division standings.
16U:
After suffering their first loss of the T1ER season, the Seattle Kraken bounced back with a 5-2 win over the Wasatch Renegades. Christian Mooney opened the scoring on the power play, but Sampson Wahlberg responded for Wasatch to end the first period tied 1-1. Seattle took control in the second, scoring twice to carry a 3-1 lead into the final frame. Wasatch cut the lead early in the third, but the Kraken added two more goals to secure the 5-2 victory. Depth scoring was key, with five different players finding the back of the net.
The Madison Capitols earned a statement 2-0 win over defending Dixon Cup champions CarShield. Carter Oliphant kept his hot streak going, scoring the first goal just over halfway through the opening period and continuing to rank as the team’s leading scorer and fourth-highest at the 16U level. The second period remained scoreless, but Madison’s defense held strong, shutting down all five of CarShield’s power-play opportunities. Despite a flurry of penalties in the third, only one goal was added, this time by Eli Ehrhardt, while Landon Austad stood tall in net to earn his second win of the season.
