The T1ER East Showcase is finally complete for day three at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The day featured exciting contests from teams at the 18U and 16U levels. Click here to see all the results.
18U:
To cap off the latest week of T1ER exposure games, the Danbury Hat Tricks tore down Kings Edgehill School during Monday's slate. In the first period, the Hat Tricks opened the scoring when Ryan Rider lit the lamp first after being set up by Matt Thornton and Jeffrey Saul. Later in the middle frame, Edgehill School drew a goal on the board to tie the score, when Alex Doyle sniped one in. Five minutes after that, the Hat Tricks broke the tie and carried away with a scoring streak, as Saul grabbed the go-ahead lead. Seconds before the second buzzer, Saul would net his second of the game to cap off the second while unassisted again. Into the third, Danbury kept scoring, as Carson Middleton increased the lead to three. And 30 seconds before the final horn, with Edgehill School's net empty, Saul would saucer to Nick Keglewitsch for him to capitalise on the empty net.
Yet another T1ER-affiliated club picked up a 5-1 victory over the guest opponent, as the New Jersey Jr. Titans shot down Fairmont Prep 5-1. First, Safir Aradj opened the scoring for the Titans, as Eduardo Gubaldze would later follow and enhance the lead to 2-0 before the first buzzer. In the middle frame, Fairmont got on the board when Konner Tzeng scored from a pass set up by Liam Roekozorovitsky. Minutes later, Devyn Tarlton for the Titans would respond after Aradj assisted. And not even a minute after that, they would score again, as Guvaldze sniped his second of the game. To cap off the third, the Titans finished it after burying the empty netter from Tarlton, sealing the deal late into the period.
The third T1ER team followed its fellow affiliated clubs and took down their visiting foe, as the Seattle Kraken defeated Militia Cats Prep 6-2. For the first period, the Kraken got on the board first when Jaedin Mulvaney scored from a lane after a cross-ice feed by Nathan White. Ten seconds later, however, the Militia Cats would respond to tie it up, when Italo Orsini got it done with help from Dustin Klipfel. Seattle broke the tie late in the second when Wyatt Siler got it done without any help. And for the third, Fedor Stepanyuk would later tuck one in to increase the Kraken’s lead to two, as Henry Hlinka carried the playmaker. That two-goal lead was needed as the visiting club ended up responding shortly after, as Orsini scored again to put them within one. However, the Kraken caught wind of the tying prospect and wouldn't allow it to happen, as they would score three unanswered to send it off. Max Kadish responded about 20 seconds after Orsini's goal, then White would later create a golden scoring opportunity for Arnet Clemen to make it 5-2, and four minutes before the game concluded, Kruz Barnes grabbed the game-winner all by himself to call it a game at 6-2.
16U:
For Monday's 16U T1ER slate, the Long Island Arrows narrowly defeated Mount Academy 3-2 in regulation. Late into the first, the Arrows would go on the board first when John Diaolo put one past the netminder of Connor Alward. Then, for the second, Mount Academy got on the board twice in a back-to-back fashion, as Nate St. Pierre tied it from an assist by Braiden Rossiter, and minutes after that, Noah Richard scored the go-ahead. But later into the middle frame, Dipaolo would set up Alexander Blesi to tie things up at two before entering the third period. Five minutes into the third, and the Arrows would break the tie with Chris Alaimo sealing the deal by punching in the game-winning goal.
To cap off Monday's 16U T1ER showdown, the Valley Forge Minutemen narrowly defeated the Boston Advantage 4-3 in overtime. In the first, Chris Morgan opened the scoring after being set up by Kevin Ringenary. Then, for the second, Morgan scored again, but this time on the power play and was assisted by Trey Bergstrasser. But then, 11 seconds before the middle frame’s buzzer, Boston would get something on the board, as Tommy Ryan got it done with help from Thomas Mochen. Later in the third, the Minutemen grabbed a two-goal lead when Reese Steimel wristed one past Anthony Tripodi. And that lead was needed, as later in the period, Boston would end up tying the score after notching two goals. At 8:50, Ryan grabbed another goal to his collection, and minutes after that, he would record a natural hat-trick to send the game to OT. Despite the effort, the Minutemen bounced back and won in OT, as Bobby Lyn would be Valley Forge’s game hero.
