18U:

In a heated back-and-forth battle, the Philadelphia Little Flyers secured a 4-3 shootout victory on Sunday morning against the Jr. Canes. The contest kicked off with Philadelphia’s Riley Andrews finding the back of the net on the man advantage at the 14:24 minute mark in the opening frame. Less than four minutes later, the Jr. Canes respond with a tally by Adam Gardner. As the matchup moved into the second period, the score was even at 1-1. The Little Flyers would light the lamp once again with another power-play tally, this time by Sean Dalessandro. However, the Jr. Canes would strike back when Peter Overzat found twine to even the score once again. As the third period commenced, both teams were hungry to acquire the lead, and the Jr. Canes were able to secure it for the first time in the game. Tilden Ayers finds the back of the net to give the Jr. Canes the 3-2 lead at the 11:48 minute mark. That advantage did not stop the Little Flyers. Philadelphia was able to respond with a goal by Michael Cellucci six minutes later, helping to give the Little Flyers life in the game. As the matchup progressed, the game was forced into extra minutes and then an eventual shootout. In the shootout, the Little Flyers featured back-to-back shootout goals by Connor Davis and Nickolas LaBuono. The two skaters lifted their team to a victory. Between the pipes for Philadelphia, Alexander Placeres stopped 36 out of 39 shots on net, while securing a win in the blue paint.

The Philadelphia Hockey Club ended their weekend with a shutout performance against the Seacoast Performance Academy at the Hollydell Ice Arena. Philadelphia struck first in the opening frame with back-to-back goals. Ethan Coots first finds the back of the net at the 12:28 minute mark before Eric Corey would score a power-play tally less than two minutes later. As the matchup moved into the second period, it was a scoreless frame with both teams trading chances. Finally in the third, the Hockey Club tallied their third and final goal of the contest when Cameron Deleo scored with 7:20 left on the clock. Between the pipes for Philadelphia, Jones Dunaj stopped all 14 shots on net. A hero in this matchup was Ethan Coots for Philadelphia. He contributed to every goal with his goal and two-assist performance.

New Jersey started the game strong with two early goals from Keane Taylor and Matthew Brodetskiy. Nick Funaro then scored one for Danbury to make the score 2-1 at the end of the opening period. After a scoreless second, Nathan Nesbitt scored another for Danbury to tie the game in regulation.
