18U:

Pittsburgh Stars 2 @ Milwaukee Jr. Admirals 0 - The Pittsburgh Stars opened their Showcase with a strong defensive performance, shutting out the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals 2-0. Jacob Hlawati got Pittsburgh on the board late in the first period, and the Stars carried the one-goal advantage through a scoreless second. Max Keller added an insurance goal early in the third to double the lead, while Ian Lorang held Milwaukee off the board to secure the shutout victory.

Seattle Jr. Kraken 4 @ North Shore Hockey Academy 3 - The Seattle Jr. Kraken battled back from an early two-goal deficit to defeat North Shore Hockey Academy 4-3. North Shore struck in the opening minutes and doubled its advantage early in the second, but Seattle responded with two goals before the intermission to even the game. Alex Peng gave the Kraken their first lead in the third before Hudson Banks added what proved to be the game-winner. North Shore pulled within one with 21 seconds remaining, but Seattle held on to secure the 4-3 victory.

Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks 4 @ Tri-State Spartans 2 - The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks also started their Showcase with a win, defeating the Tri-State Spartans 4-2. Danbury opened the scoring just eight seconds into the game before the Spartans answered with two goals in the second period. Keegan Ott restored the Hat Tricks' lead late in the frame, and Nate Nesbitt added an insurance goal in the third to seal the victory.

16U:

Philadelphia LF 2 @ Indiana 0 – The Philadelphia Little Flyers defeated the Indiana Elite in their season opener with a hard-fought battle on Thursday. The first game of the season for each team started off with a scoreless first period, with six shots for the Little Flyers and three for the Elite. The second period saw more action with ten shots all around, but the Little Flyers were able to find the back of the net with a goal from Riley Berger, assisted by Shane Grubbs and Colton Vanicky. Philadelphia sounded the horn once more in the third period with a goal from Vanicky, assisted by Berger and Cooper Donelson. The Little Flyers went unanswered and tallied their first win of the season. The game saw just two penalties and a total of 19 shots for the Little Flyers and 22 for the Elite.

Philadelphia HC 5 @ Nashville 2 – The Philadelphia Hockey Club secured their first win of the season against the Nashville Jr. Predators on Thursday. Nashville opened the scoring with a goal from John O’Connell in the first period, followed by another goal from Greyson Kramar to give the Jr. Preds an early 2-0 lead. Philadelphia found a way to answer back soon into the second, with a power play goal from Wyatt Durand, assisted by Kipp Inman. A second power play goal was scored two minutes later for Philadelphia by Denis Drobyshev, also assisted by Kipp Inman to even the score. The 10-minute power play on Nashville seemed to light the fire under Philadelphia going into the third period, with each team trading minor penalties but unable to break the tie going into the final 17 minutes.  With 9:22 left in the game, Philadelphia’s Nolan Dixon gave the Hockey Club their first lead of the game. Three minutes later, Ben Dempsey furthered the deficit with a goal of his own for Philadelphia on a power play. The Predators had an empty net with two minutes left, but Philadelphia was able to sneak in one more goal from Adinur Zhanbaba, nailing their victory. The Philadelphia Hockey Club outscored the Jr. Predators 5-2, while also outshooting them 27-19.

15U:

Tri-State 3 @ New Jersey 1 – The Tri-State Spartans defeated the New Jersey Jr. Titans in both teams’ season debut on Thursday. The game started off slow with both teams battling to be the first to sound the horn. The Spartans were the first to light up the scoreboard just seconds into the second period with a goal from Tyler Balee. Balee found twine again with less than five minutes to go in the second, giving the Spartans two-up on the Titans. Dylan Koring scored the third goal for Tri-State with seconds left in the period, assisted by Luke Selear. New Jersey was finally able to answer back with a goal in the third period by Joseph Caputo. Despite the fight from the Titans, the Spartans were able to keep their 3-1 lead, tallying their first victory on the season.

Philadelphia 0 @ Omaha 8 – The Omaha Mastery had a stellar season debut against the Philadelphia Little Flyers on Thursday morning. The shutout started off with a goal from the Mastery’s Asher Reynolds with the lone goal of the first period. Grant Volzke opened the second period with a goal for the Mastery. Omaha’s Wyatt Webster scored his first goal of the goal with 4:10 to go in the period, followed by his second with 1:37 left to give the Mastery a 4-0 lead going into the final period. Seconds into the third, Cooper Moragues scored his first goal of the game and the Mastery’s fifth, followed by one from Logan Wiesner a minute later. Wiesner found the back of the net once again for his second goal with 6:41 to go in the game. Asher Reynolds nailed down the shutout for the Mastery with the final goal of the game, giving Omaha a perfect 8-0 to start of the season.
