T1ER Showcase Day 3: High Energy and Tons of Exciting Matchups on Display

Day three of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) T1ER League has wrapped up as the teams brought the energy! Teams at both the 16U and 18U levels kept the intensity high throughout day three. Click here to see all the scores!

18U: 

New Jersey Titans AP 4 vs. Belle Tire 3 (OT) - The NJ Jr. Titans AP erased an early two-goal deficit and defeated Belle Tire 4-3 in overtime. Belle Tire jumped ahead in the opening period behind goals from Liam Elliot and Arie Sytsma. The Titans responded in the second as Safir Aradj scored twice and Cal Parker added another, while Matthew Semig found the back of the net for Belle Tire to send the game into the third tied 3-3. After a scoreless final frame, Parker struck again at 3:59 of overtime to secure the victory with his second goal of the game. Luke Moforis earned the win in net for the Titans, who outshot Belle Tire 30-16.

Philadelphia Hockey Club 3 vs. Colorado Thunderbirds 2 (OT) - Philadelphia Hockey Club defeated the Colorado Thunderbirds 3-2 in overtime after the teams traded goals throughout regulation. Jasa Spendov opened the scoring for Philadelphia before Sawyer Macfarland answered for Colorado to make it 1-1 after the first period. Following a scoreless second, Brady Bakarich put Colorado ahead in the third before Colin Costello tied the game at 2-2. Just 37 seconds into overtime, Dominic Liberati scored the game-winner to secure the victory for Philadelphia. Logan Konstalid earned the win in net as Philadelphia held a 26-27 disadvantage in shots.

Biggby Coffee 3 vs. Milwaukee Jr. Admirals 1 - Biggby Coffee improved to 3-0-0 with a 3-1 victory over the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals. Michael Marlatt opened the scoring just 1:59 into the game before Max Shaydark and Cameron Alvarado added second-period goals to build a 3-0 advantage. Milwaukee broke through late in the third on a goal from Braxton Borgford, but Biggby held on for the victory. Luukas Moffat earned the win in net as Milwaukee narrowly outshot Biggby 29-28.

16U:

MNHP Walleye 2 @ Seattle Jr. Kraken 5 – The Seattle Jr. Kraken powered past MNHP Walleye with a steady offensive attack and a dominant second-period surge to cruise to a 5-2 victory on Saturday. Seattle struck first when Nicklas Chung opened the scoring, giving the Kraken some early momentum. MNHP answered late in the first, with Henry Zirbes finding the equalizer to send the game into the intermission tied 1-1. The Jr. Kraken came out energized in the second, capitalizing on scoring opportunities. Jack Laren buried an early goal to reclaim the lead, and Chung followed with his second of the night, stretching the Kraken’s advantage to 3-1 heading into the third. Seattle kept rolling in the final period with Landon Henderson finding the back of the net and pushing the lead to 4-1. MNHP’s Jonathan Martinka responded to make it 4-2, but Seattle closed the door late when Daine Sweeny scored to seal the 5-2 victory. Seattle paired a strong defensive effort with five goals on the attack, delivering a complete performance to secure the win.

Carshield AAA 6 @ LA Jr. Kings 4 – Carshield outlasted the LA Jr. Kings 6-4 in a high-tempo matchup. The first period set the offensive tone for the game on both sides. Trevor Steiner opened the scoring for Carshield, but the Jr. Kings responded with goals by both Kaleb Adams and Samuel McCloud to give LA a 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission. Carshield wasted no time resetting for the second period with a Goose Young goal early on to spark a dominant offensive stretch. Goals from Thomas Leroux and Kane Baskett pushed Carshield ahead 4-2. A late-period strike for Carshield’s Louis Lamontagne extended the lead to 5-2 heading into the third. Early in the final frame, Chales Leroux made it 6-2, giving Carshield a comfortable cushion. The Jr. Kings battled back with goals from Max Haber and Derek Solmayor, trimming the deficit, but Carshield held strong defensively to close out the 6-4 win.

15U:

Great Lakes Hockey Club 2 @ Philadelphia Hockey Club 5 – The Philadelphia Hockey Club earned the 5-2 win over the Great Lakes, pulling away late in the third after a tight, defensive battled throughout two periods. Philadelphia opened the scoring when Bryce McCullough buried an early change. Great Lake responded quickly with Cole Richert finding the net to tie the game 1-1 going into the first intermission. Philadelphia’s William Kovach struck early in the second to make it 2-1. Despite steady pressure from both sides, the score held for the remainder of the period, setting up a decisive third. Great Lakes tied the game early in the third with a goal by Aiden Davis. The Philadelphia Hockey Club found needed momentum with a goal by Blake Boucher to make the game 3-2. Jamesone Dolan was able to provide some cushion with a late goal, making it 4-2, and then sealed the night with another in the final seconds to lift Philadelphia to a 5-2 win over the Great Lakes.

Tri-State Spartans 6 @ Vegan Jr. Golden Knights 3 – Tri-State powered past Vegan 6-3, riding a dominant middle frame and a three-goal night from Tyler Balee. The Spartans were able to strike first with Dylan Koring opening the scoring, but Vegas quickly responded with Daniel Etheridge tied it up. Tri State’s Ashton Choi responded late, taking the 2-1 leading heading into the second. The Spartans took full control of the second with Charlie Graham extending the lead and Tyler Balee finding the back of the net to make it 4-1 heading into the third. Balee wasted no time in the final frame, scoring early to push the Spartans ahead 5-2. Vegas battled back with goals from Jack Moy and a second from Etheridge to cut it to 5-3. Balee capped off his standout performance with a late goal, completing his hat trick and sealing the Spartan’s 6-3 victory.
