T1ER West Showcase completes Day 1 of action in Blaine

The sixth event of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) T1ER League faced off on Saturday, December 16th as the T1ER West Showcase began with action in the 18U and 16U Divisions. The event takes place from December 16-18, 2023, at the NSC Super Rink in Blaine, MN.

This is the seventh overall event of the 2023-24 season for the NAPHL, which is made up of the T1ER, SHOW, and FALL Leagues.

The NAPHL T1ER League is sanctioned by USA Hockey and is designed to maximize the exposure of all the participants through the NAHL's high-profile recruiting events that attract hundreds of college, junior and professional scouts.

The NAPHL T1ER League West Showcase event in Blaine will be played in cooperation with the second NAPHL SHOW League event of the 2023-24 season, which features 18, 16, and 14U teams from the SHOW League.

In addition, the 2023 NA3HL Showcase will also be taking place at the Super Rink from December 17-19. All NA3HL teams will play three regular-season games at the Showcase, which is annually one of the most well-attended and scouted events of the entire season for the league, attracting over 100+ college and junior scouts alike.

Seminars: As an additional element to the program this season, an NCAA education and compliance seminar will be presented to all players, coaches and parents during the NA3HL Showcase on Sunday, December 17th at 10am, 1pm, and 4pm. This will be the same presentation used in NAHL seminars and the focus will be on differences between NCAA Division I, Division III and ACHA, the breakdown of NCAA I conference landscape, NCAA Initial Eligibility information including important new rules going into effect this season and how future players will be affected, the recruiting process and how to market yourself.

Day 1 recaps

16U T1ER: The Orland Park Vikings emerged victorious 2-1 in a shootout over the Madison Capitols. Brady Spotts scored Madison’s regulation goal. Omaha Mastery scored four times against the Arizona Bobcats in a 4-1 win. Devin Heald had a pair of goals in the win. The Las Vegas Jr. Golden Knights edged past Florida Alliance 2-1. Zachary Gay and Daniel Madia scored the goals for Vegas. The Seattle Kraken doubled Colorado Springs's scoring output, winning 4-2. Conner Barradale, Ryan Howe, Henry Hlinka, and David Han scored the goals. The Orland Park Vikings buried 5 goals in a 5-0 win over the Colorado Springs Tigers. Five different skaters buried goals for the Vikings. The Las Vegas Jr. Golden Knights defeated the Seattle Kraken 5-2. Yuchuan Chen potted a pair of goals in the win. Tyler Greene found the back of the net with 2:33 remaining in overtime to win it for Florida Alliance over Omaha Mastery. Derek Hudson and Joshua Kitsis scored regulation goals for Florida. The Madison Capitols shut out the Arizona Bobcats 4-0. Eli Hahn had a hat trick in the victory.

18U T1ER: The Madison Capitols edged past the Rose City Pats with a final score of 2-1. Austiin Schultz's first-period goal and Zack Machoia's third-period tally secured the victory for Madison. The North Carolina Golden Bears secured a 3-2 win over the Las Vegas Jr. Golden Knights. Mason Jeeves, John Kenney, and Andrew Haskins found the net for North Carolina, while Joseph Mina and Brandon Cabral scored for Las Vegas. The Colorado Springs Tigers defeated Omaha Mastery with a final score of 1-0. Jacob Wenner's third-period goal proved to be the difference-maker in a low-scoring contest. The Arizona Bobcats dominated the Seattle Kraken, securing a convincing 6-1 victory. Ryan Jim led the scoring for Arizona with two goals, while Tyler Parsons netted the lone goal for Seattle. The Colorado Springs Tigers prevailed over the Arizona Bobcats with a final score of 5-2. Reed Gramlich and Ryan McCaughey scored for the Bobcats, but the Tigers' balanced offensive effort, including goals from Cael Freehling and Robert Bird, secured the win. Rose City Pats dominated the Seattle Kraken, emerging victorious with a final score of 6-2. Riley Scharlin, Ethan Winters, Jayden Hitt, Steven Anderson, Joe Lawrence, and Matthew Masdonati all contributed goals for Rose City. Omaha Mastery secured a 6-4 win over the North Carolina Golden Bears. Ty Bashaw, Kyle Sorensen, and Tyler Dahms were among the goal-scorers for Omaha, while Jiachen Guo and Jake Wilkerson found the net for North Carolina. The Madison Capitols showcased an offensive onslaught, defeating the Las Vegas Jr. Golden Knights with a commanding scoreline of 14-0. Ryder Hill, Jut Suter, and Carter Walby led Madison's scoring spree with multiple goals each.
