CarShield 18U goalie Appelman signs NAHL tender

The NAPHL’s T1ER League is pleased to announce that CarShield AAA 18U goalie Branson Appelman has signed an NAHL tender agreement for the 2024-25 season with the St. Cloud Norsemen of the NAHL’s Central Division. 

Appelman, 18, is currently in his fourth season of playing in the NAPHL’s T1ER League for the CarShield organization. The 6’0/180 lbs. Native of Maple Grove, MN, has appeared in five T1ER games so far during the 2023-24 season and recorded a 3-1-1 record with a 2.73 goals against average and a .897 save percentage. 

During the 2022-23 season, Appelman posted a 6-0-1 record in 7 T1ER games played with a 2.26 goals against average and .881 save percentage. 

During the 2021-22 season, Appelman posted a 14-1-1 record in 16 NAPHL games played for the CarShield 16U team and 1.31 goals against average and a .950 save percentage. 

In 2020-21, he was named to the All-NAPHL 15U 1st Team thanks to a perfect 7-0-0 record with the CarShield 15U team complete with a 1.13 goals against average and a .943 save percentage. 

He is the sixth player from the CarShield AAA 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender so far this season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the T1ER - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2024 NAHL Draft.
