T1ER Top Prospects Shine on Monday

Offense was the star of the show on the first day of the T1ER Top Prospects event

Team Blue 16U 6 vs Team White 16U 2: The scoring started early in the 16U game as Cooper Rodgers got Team Blue on the board just 37 seconds into the action. Trevor Young picked up a goal in the final minutes of the opening frame to give them a 2-0 lead after one. Young got on the scoresheet again as he expanded the Team Blue lead to 3-0. Riley Burg put Team White within two at the end of the second. Jayton Frederick got Team White within one as the deficit was cut to 3-2. Nicholas La Buono restored the two goal margin with his first point of the night. Eli Hahn found the back of the net just over two minutes later to put the game out of reach while La Buono made it a 6-2 game with his second of the afternoon. Andrew Bely was the winner in goal as he stopped all 21 shots he faced. Jacob Aranda come in and stopped 12 of the 14 shots he faced. Kyle McLaughlin and Jacob Brumm teamed to make 21 saves.

Team Blue 18U 4 vs Team White 18U 3 (SO): After a scoreless opening frame, Team Blue got on the board with Makhai Santiago Dame chipping in a goal to get the scoring going. Kyle Sorenson tied the game up just a few minutes remaining in the middle frame. However with 30 seconds remaining in the period. Sorensen responded in the third period with his second of the evening. Connor Jalbert put Team Blue back in front with his first of the night. Then with just 62 seconds left, Sorenson completed the hat trick to force overtime. After a scoreless overtime, Team Blue pulled it out in a shootout. Lorenzo Rossi stopped all 21 shots he faced while Tyler Benjamin turned aside 19 shots. Andrew Dubin madę 23 saves while Landon Buterbaugh made 14 stops.
