New Jersey Jr. Titans defenseman Saddy signs NAHL Tender

February 29, 2024

The New Jersey Jr. Titans of the NAPHL’s T1ER League are proud to announce that 18U defenseman JP Saddy has signed an NAHL tender agreement for the 2024-25 season with the New Jersey Titans in the NAHL’s East Division.

Saddy, 17, has been with the Titans youth organization since the 2020-21 season, most recently spending this last season with the 18U squad. In 14 regular season games, Saddy paced himself at 2nd across the entire league with 12 points (2 goals, 10 assists). He also netted one goal in four Dixon Cup Playoff games in Detroit. Saddy’s time in the NAPHL began last campaign on the 16U team where he logged 10 points (1 goal, 9 assists) in 16 games during the regular season.

“The environment at the Titans emphasizes development, a healthy culture, and a top-tier experience. The facilities are top-notch, some of the best I have seen in the country with two rinks, a recovery room, Sports Performance Lab, designated locker rooms, and video with top analysts,” said Saddy. “Knowing that Coach Haviland gives you every opportunity at the Titans to climb the ladder of development and that there is a pathway to junior hockey if you work hard gives us a lot of incentive. Being able to play Juniors in Middletown is something we all strive to achieve under Haviland’s guidance and coaching."

Saddy was recently selected to participate in the 2024 T1ER Top Prospects Tournament played in conjunction with the North American Hockey League at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. There, he represented Team White alongside teammates Nikolas Reich and William Filteau. He is the 2nd Jr. Titan to sign an NAHL Tender agreement.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the T1ER - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2024 NAHL Draft.
