Philadelphia HC 18U goalie Rossi signs NAHL Tender

Philadelphia Hockey Club of the NAPHL’s T1ER League is proud to announce that 18U goalie Lorenzo Rossi has signed an NAHL tender agreement for the 2024-25 season with the Corpus Christi IceRays of the NAHL’s South Division.

Rossi, 18, is playing his first season with PHC and first in the NAPHL’s T1ER League. The Wappinger Falls, New York native was a dominant force between the crease for the club during the regular season, winning 11 of 13 games played with a 2.44 goals against average and .922 save percentage. Rossi also started in three games for Philadelphia in Detroit at the Dixon Cup playoffs in February, going 2-1 with a 3.53 GAA and .850 SV%. 

Lorenzo was selected to and participated in the 2024 T1ER Top Prospects Tournament in February at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Pennsylvania. There he represented Team Blue and played well, stopping 34 of 37 shots faced over the course of two days. 

Rossi made his NAHL debut with the IceRays on the 29th of March, stopping 33 of 38 shots in a matchup against the New Mexico Ice Wolves. He is poised to make an impact in between the pipes for the South Division club next season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the T1ER - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2024 NAHL Draft.
