CarShield 16U defenseman Mullens signs NAHL Tender

The NAPHL’s T1ER League is pleased to announce that CarShield AAA 16U defenseman Xander Mullens has signed an NAHL tender agreement for the 2024-25 season with the Anchorage Wolverines of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.

Mullens,17, is playing his first season in the NAPHL’s T1ER League with 16U CarShield AAA. As the top leading scorer for defensemen on CarShield, the Forth Worth, TX native posted 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) in 11 games. With this success, Mullens was selected to participate in the 2024 Top Prospects Tournament in Pittsburgh, PA and was named to the 2023-2024 NAPHL All-T1ier team.

The ‘07 defenseman also participated in the NAPHL’s Fall League with the Des Moines Buccaneers U14 team during the 2021-2022 season. 

Mullens is one of three skaters from the Carshield AAA 16U team who has signed a NAHL tender agreement for the upcoming season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the T1ER - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2024 NAHL Draft.
